    “Enhancing Policy and Practice in the Field of Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (Senior Seminar)”
    Reducing reoffending is one of the main goals of criminal justice interventions as it leads to fewer victims, safer communities, and less pressure on and lower costs for the criminal justice system.

    • Objectives
      The main theme of the program is “Reducing reoffending through rehabilitation and social reintegration: Relevant UN standards and norms and promising
      practices”. Participants will: (1) Share their respective countries’ experiences and practices regarding the theme of the program, and (2) Establish a global network for the exchange of updated information on the practices of the respective countries.

    Orientações gerais

    A instituição interessada em indicar candidatos para o curso da JICA devem encaminhar uma cópia do “Application Form” datada e assinada para jicabr-training@jica.go.jp

    1. Ler o Informativo do curso e providenciar os documentos como: “Inception Report”, “Organization Chart” e “Questionnaire” (caso solicitado no informativo do curso);
    2. Preencher o “Application Form” com endereço completo incluindo o CEP, preencher o “Official Application” com a assinatura da Instituição (pessoa autorizada a permitirá a saída para o Japão);
    3. Anexar ao “Application Form”: a) “Inception Report”, “Organization Chart” e “Questionnaire” se solicitado no informativo do curso; b) Diploma de graduação do curso de nível superior; c) Teste de Proficiência do Inglês em inglês (somente para os cursos realizados em inglês); d) Copia do passaporte (com prazo de vencimento mais de 6 meses); e) Cópia do Visto Americano, caso possua (não é obrigatório).

    Obs.: O nome do candidato deve estar de acordo com o nome no passaporte.

    Hidden in nature, secretive and invisible, corruption is commonly understood to be a phenomenon that is difficult to detect. It is often committed in a closed setting and the parties benefitting from corruption have strong motivation to conceal their illegal acts. This hidden nature poses a huge challenge to our collective efforts to fight against corruption, particularly for investigative authorities since detection is a precondition of investigation and prosecution.

    This training program will focus on strengthening the capacity of investigative authorities to detect and build corruption cases by:

    • (a) enhancing the understanding of current trends in measures to detect corruption, and analyzing the pros and cons of such measures;
    • (b) exchanging lessons learned, challenges and good practices in the detection of corruption.

    Key Topics of the Program

    1. Current situation of detection of corruption in each country
    2. Issues, barriers and challenges on detection of corruption, and possible solutions
    3. Best practices in each country in detecting corruption, including reporting and audits
    4. International response to enhance the capacity of States to detect corruption, including international cooperation
    5. Approaches to strengthening the links between detection and investigation
